His siblings included [[Shallan]], [[Tet Wikim]], [[Asha Jushu]], and the late [[Helaran]]. He gained the title 'Nan' preceding his name upon the presumed death of Helaran, who was previously the oldest son in House Davar.
Balat was the second son of [[Shallan's father|Lord Davar]], his mother was dead. He had four siblings: [[Helaran]], [[Tet Wikim|Wikim]], [[Asha Jushu|Jushu]] and [[Shallan]]. After Nan Helaran, Balat's eldest brother, disappeared and was proclaimed dead by their father, Balat gained the title 'Nan'.
