Even the sites style guide is very clear that duke is the title that should be used here. Throughout the site formal titles are used when given in leu of a first name. See Lord Hue, Lord Habren, Lady Farthing, and the High Emperor. Why is duke suddenly an exception to sitewide convention?--Debarra (talk) 18:47, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

:The majority consensus in the chat was that "duke" is awkward as a page title with other characters who are dukes, and because the story merely uses it as a title rather than capitalized as a name. Naming characters by an important relation is the usual convention for unnamed characters, so that is the most natural option. We do actually have a whole "titled characters" category for those that you mentioned, but (1) I believe this is a convention we have been shifting away from (There are a lot of characters with no first name and a title who are NOT using this convention.) and most importantly (2) nearly all of them at least have some kind of unique name. We wouldn't title an article for an unnamed character simply "lord" or "lady" unless there were no better options. That is to say, I think High Emperor is the only exception to our normal conventions.--Jofwu (talk) 19:14, 10 January 2023 (UTC)
