Around six years before the start of the [[True Desolation]], the inkspren [[Ivory]] bonded [[Jasnah]], reformingre-forming the Elsecallers.{{book ref|sa2|prologue}} Jasnah, and therefore the Elsecallers, was the first otof the currently known Radiants to swear the First Ideal and reformre-form.{{wob ref|10759}} Jasnah is currently the only Elsecaller, as all new-generation inkspren except Ivory are unwilling to take the risk of a bond.{{book ref|sa3|47}}

Modern lore connects the Elsecallers with the gemstone Zircon, the number seven, the [[Ten Essences|essence]] tallow, and the body focus oil. They are associated with the attributes wise and careful. In the double eye of the Almighty, the Elsecallers are connected to the [[Willshapers]], [[Order of Lightweavers|Lightweavers]], and the [[Skybreakers]]. In [[Vorinism]], Elsecallers, along with all the Knights radiantRadiant, are considered monsters who betrayed mankind during the Recreance.

The Ideals of the Knights Radiant, also known as the [[Immortal Words]], are a set of rules by which the Knights Radiantthey lived. The First Ideal, identical for all orders of the Knights Radiant, is used as their motto. Each order of the Knights Radiant had additional four ideals that were unique to each order.
