The Ideals of the Knights Radiant, also known as the [[Immortal Words]], are a set of rules by which the Radiants live. The First Ideal is shared by all of the orders, and is used as a motto for the Knights Radiant as a whole. Each of the orders then have an additional four Ideals that are unique to that order.{{book ref|sa1|59}} The Ideals of the Order of Willshapers all focus on individual freedom and liberty; the Willshapers champion self-expression and freedom of choice for all.{{wob ref|13779}} Their oaths can be acknowledged by an unknown femalen voice or the [[Stormfather]].{{book ref|sa4|60}}{{book ref|sa4|115}}{{book ref|sa4|117}}

When a Willshaper is also a [[Regal]], additional abilities arise. Though there is a voidspren within the singer's gemheart, the lightspren keeps it trapped and protects their Willshaper from the voidspren's influence.{{book ref|sa4|11}} This allows the Radiant to retain their form's abilities and switch between red and normal eyes at will, letting them blend in with Odium's forces.{{book ref|sa3|120}} Regal Willshapers are able to use both Stormlight and Voidlight to fuel their Surgebinding.{{book ref|sa4|11}}{{book ref|sa4|109}} These Willshapers are also highly resistant to [[suppression fabrial]]s that stop Radiants from Surgebinding.{{book ref|sa4|67}}
