Outer cities is a term used for certain settlements on two planets of the cosmere.

• On Sel, it refers to the four smaller cities that surround Elantris, including Kae; see Elantris (city)#Outer Cities.
• On Scadrial, it refers to cities in the Elendel Basin other than Elendel, such as New Seran, Bilming, and Rashekin; see Elendel Basin#Outer Cities. The term is sometimes capitalized in the Scadrial broadsheets.
