One night, Zane comes to her and asks her to run away with him. Vin refuses, choosing Elend over Zane. Zane attacks her, this time intending to kill her. Though Zane burns [[atium]], Vin still manages to kill him during the course of their fight.{{book ref|mb2|47}}
