Spoiler Policy Reminder

Under our spoiler policy, any content from books that are not fully released is not allowed on the Coppermind. The only exception to this rule is on meta-pages for the books themselves (e.g., Wind and Truth). If you are unsure whether the information you want to add comes from pre-release content, please do not add it and instead ask about it on our Discord.

Karshad is a holy language spoken by members of the Priest DaiKeen, the Kerztian clergy on Taldain.

When Khriss and her team first arrived on Dayside, she and Cynder had learned some Karshad by studying Daysider books. When Cynder spoke the language to the locals, they seemed to understand but quickly fled in fear. The Darksider team then overheard a priest (possibly the A'kar) speaking Karshad, and realized that they had inadvertently learned a holy language. Cynder was considered to be Elis's foremost authority on Daysider linguistics, and his ignorance of the common language was symptomatic of the schism between the two regions.ws

They later learned that the man was the A'Kar, presumably inciting the warriors on their way to attack the Diem.ws1
