- Series parameters
When the book is a part of a series, these are used to describe the book's position within the series. Note that standalone stories that take place in the same world as a given series are not treated as prequels/sequels even if their place in the world's chronology would position them to be considered as such (e.g. The Eleventh Metal is not a prequel to Mistborn: The Final Empire, but something like Edgedancer is considered a sequel to Words of Radiance and a prequel to Oathbringer).
If you use either prequel or sequel, you should also add a series to your infobox. The net effect will be that:
- The top of the infobox will include
</>links to the prequel and/or sequel. - The infobox will include a section for the series, which will include a link to the series' page, as well as links to the prequel and/or sequel in the Follows and Precedes fields.
If the article being linked to are not the same as the text that you wish to display, then provide the links as prev/next and the text to display in prequel/sequel respectively.
Note that you can add a series without including either prequel or sequel.
