Skai was the original Vessel of the Shard Dominion.[2] Sometime after the Shattering, they and Aona took up residence on Sel.[1] Edgli believes that, by doing so, they violated the original Vessels' pact to not settle on the same world as another Shard,[3][4] though the exact terms of that agreement are somewhat unclear.[5]
Abilities and Attributes
Skai is a Shard of Adonalsium, making them one of the most powerful entities in the cosmere. They are immortal, unaging, and incorporeal. They fuel the magics AonDor, Dakhor, ChayShan, Forgery, and Bloodsealing.[6][7]
History
Nothing is known about Skai's origins and life prior to the Shattering, other than that they came from Yolen.[8] For unknown reason, they and a group of others broke cosmere's creator deity, Adonalsium, into sixteen pieces.[9] Of those sixteen, they took up Dominion, and departed alongside Devotion for Sel.[10]
Trivia
- Though they're often presumed male by the fandom, Skai's gender has not been canonized.
