As a yoki-hijo, she has the ability to summon forth hijo through a process of ritualistic stone stacking, and upon summoning them she can have them take on the shape of various tools to help the denizens of Torio.{{book ref|yumi|2}}
Her experience in the stacking ritual is immense, with the practice from every day over nearly two-thousand years crossing over, despite her loss of memory.
During the events of Yumi & The Nightmare Painter it is stated by Design that Yumi is heavily Invested. Design states that Yumi is Invested on the level of Elantrians, which is higher than that of the Returned. It is somewhat unclear on whether or not she is still this heavily Invested following the conclusion of the story.
