Lift and Yanagawn care for each other, a great example is his genuine happiness when she returns from Yeddaw.{{book ref|sa3|42}} He trusts her acknowledging she is smart.{{book ref|sa3|116}} They met as thieves stealing at the Azish Prime's Palace. When he was mortally wounded by [[Nale]]´s companion, she cared enough for him that she spoke the second oath and used regeneration to save him.{{book ref|sa2|i|9}} Considering this a miracle, he is appointed Prime of Azir and in return, he saves Lift by pardoning her and stopping Nale from executing her.{{book ref|sa2|i|9}} She is also protective of him and accompanies him to all important events like the visions or the political meetings at Urithiru.{{book ref|sa3|111}} After the Battle of Emul, Yanagawn asks about Lift, who is at Urithiru during the Fused occupation.
