== Techniques ==
*Beginning position - The user stands slightly sideways, hands held in front of him, with his elbows bent, and his blade pointing slightly backwards towards his head{{ref|b|twok|c|58}}
*Turn - The user shifts his feet and lowers his shoulder while throwing his weight behind the swing of his sword{{ref|b|twok|c|56}}
*Offensive Forms - The user attacks with a sweeping motion, knocking an opponent's blade out of their defensive posture. The user fights with a series of quick and unnerving small blows.{{ref|b|twok|c|58}}
*Block - When being attacked by an overhand blow, the user lowers his blade with his right hand and catches his opponent's blow on his left vambrace.{{ref|b|twok|c|58}} The user can follow up his block with an attack from the side. Windstance is not designed to parry.{{ref|b|twok|c|68}}
