Voidbringer is the term for a being infused with the power of Odium. Since the arrival of the Everstorm and the start of the True Desolation Voidbringers has been revealed to be the human name for singers, usually either the Regal or the Fused, both which have glowing red eyes. From the Eila Stele, humans learned that originally Voidbringer was the Dawnsinger name for humans, because they brought Odium, the Void, with them to Roshar as their god. At some point the term switched, as singers adopted Odium and his power in order to fight humans. Regals are singers who have adopted forms of power, while Fused are the Cognitive Shadows of old singers who go to Braize each time they die and return to Roshar at the start of a Desolation. Since the listeners summoned the Everstorm, the Fused can return every time it passes.

The Voidbringers are a race of creatures known only as myths to most inhabitants of Roshar.sa1 Legend tells of a time when they attacked mankind in their homes in the Tranquiline Halls, forcing them to Roshar. The Voidbringers then attacked mankind on Roshar, attempting to force them into Damnation. According to legend, mankind defeated the Voidbringers once and for all during the Last Desolation. However, over the course of The Way of Kings it is implied that the Voidbringers are not as absent as the legends claim.
