This caused the ecology and culture on both sides of the planet to develop separately from one another. Taldain is a tidally locked planet, kept in an unstable orbit around [[AisDa]] by the gravitational pull of [[The Eye of Ridos|Ridos]], and by some other, unknown force, likely Autonomy. This astronomically unstable orbit is known as "Wombear's Saddle".{{book ref|ws|part=ars}}
