'''Taan''' was a sculptor in Arelon. He survived the turmoil of the Shaod, and lived for several years in Iadon's fledgling kingdom. However, he was taken by the Reod and cast into Elantris approximately a year before [[Raoden]]. There, he assumed the name Aandan, and ruled approximately a third of the cities inhabitants. After joining Raoden's band, Taan largely gave up leadership, reverting to his former role as a sculptor, studying the masterful works that existed throughout the city of Elantris.
