Elend and Spook had a cautious relationship in the beginning as the former cancould sense the latter liked Vin,{{book ref|mb2|6}} but they continue to grow fond of each other as they spend more and more time together.{{book ref|mb2|27}} Elend later reinforces to Spook that he is not being dismissed and he is valued for his skills of scout and Tineye.{{book ref|mb1|49}}
