As part of the Oathpact, Shalash was given one of the Honorblades that grant access to Surgebinding for those who bond them. Her blade grants the Surges of Illumination and Transformation. However, as of the beginning of [[True Desolation]], she does not appear to have it, as she considers acquiring a [[Shardblade]] to gain an equally sharp weapon.{{book ref|sa1|i|7}}

The Surge of Illumination allowswould allow Shalash to create illusions through [[Lightweaving]].

The Surge of Transformation allowswould allow Shalash to transmute material into one of the [[Ten Essences]] through [[Soulcasting]].
