He is part of a strike team that attempts to retake the [[Oathgate]] during the [[Siege of Kholinar]].{{book ref|sa3|83}} He appears to be a high-ranking military leader, as he discusses strategy with King [[Elhokar]], [[Azure]], [[Adolin]], and other Highlords.{{book ref|sa3|83}} Shaday holds out hope that the [[Voidbringer]]s and members of the corrupted [[Kholinar#Palace_Guard|Palace Guard]] may turn on each other, but Elhokar dismisses the possibility.{{book ref|sa3|83}} Although a few individuals make it to the Oathgate,{{book ref|sa3|85}} the Kholin army is overrun by the [[Singers]].{{book ref|sa3|84}} Shaday's fate is unknown, but he was likely killed or enslaved along with the other defenders of Kholinar.
