Changed the "we don't know how they work" into talking about Aon Equations, as we know they use long strands of Aons, which fits with what we know of them from Annotations and WoBs.

This indirectly reveals aspects of their curse.{{book ref\|tress\|42}} She is possibly capable of investing common animals to grant them self-awareness, making them her familiars.{{book ref\|tress\|28}} Although it isn't clear if this is what she does, or if it just humans that she transforms into animals.{{book ref\|tress\|64}} Other beings in the Cosmere also fear Riina, one of which is Xisis who considers imprisoning people to be a mercy when the alternative is for them to face the sorceress. He himself fears to confront her.{{book ref\|tress\|52}}
