He was given the title of Royal Defender, the traditional bearer of the [[Shardplate]] and [[Shardblade]] of the royal line of Thanadal by Highprince [[Thanadal]]. His Shardplate was painted yellow and he tends to favour the fighting style of Stonestance. He lost a duel to [[Adolin Kholin]] who challenged Resi to a duel after house Thanadel insulted [[Dalinar]].
