The weather of the Purelake was exceptionally warm.{{ref|b|twok|i|1}} The only time that the temperature turned colder was in the event of a [[highstorm]]. As the Purelake was so far west, the highstorms were considerably weaker than in the east of Roshar,{{ref|b|twok|i|4}} so it was possible to remain outside while they were occurring. However, while the highstorm was in progress, the Purelake would drain into holes and pits in the ground. Those who were outside would simply take shelter behind a ridge and wait the storm out.

 

The Purelake was home to many species of fish, such as the [[kolgril]] and [[Stumpy Cort|stumpy cort]].{{ref|b|twok|i|1}} It also was home to [[cremling]]s and a plant or creature known as a [[spikemane]]. [[Riverspren]] were also common in the Purelake.
