The '''Parshendi''' were a race of creatures on the world of [[Roshar]].
They lived in the area of Roshar known as the [[Shattered Plains]] and seemed to be related to (and physically resemble in some aspects) the [[Parshmen]]. However, the Parshendi were mentally much more intelligent than the Parshmen. Male Parshendi grew beards, which they threaded through beads infused with [[stormlight]].
The Parshendi were originally discovered by [[Gavilar|King Gavilar]] during a hunting trip. Not much is known about the ways of the Parshendi. They appear to have a form of hive mind.
Physically, the parshendi were well-built and have marbled skin patterns of white and red or black and red.
They also grew a form of chitinous armor on their chests and head.
They hired [[Szeth]] to assassinate the King of Alethkar, [[Gavilar]], on the eve of a treaty with the Alethkar people. They instructed him to wear white because it was a Parshendi tradition for assassinations.
They seem to have an affection for the drum and other rhythmic instruments and sing while fighting.
