In Part One of ''[[Oathbringer]]'' the epigraphs are excerpts from the preface of the [[Oathbringer (in-world)|in-universe book of the same name]].

In Part Two of ''Oathbringer'' the epigraphs are three letters. The first and second are directed to "[[Hoid|Cephandrius]]", and the third is addressed to "Friend"--also likely referring to Hoid. The second letter is theorized to have been written by [[Bavadin]], and the the third letter is most likely written by [[Harmony]].

In Part Three of ''Oathbringer'', the epigraphs are records retrieved from the gem archive in [[Urithiru]]. The drawer number and [[Polestone|gemstone]] designations are included with the record. The gemstone used to make the record likely corresponds to the Order of the [[Knights Radiant|Knight]] who made it. (eg. sapphires for [[Windrunners]])
