Blushweaver used this incident as an excuse to visit Mercystar with Lightsong. Blushweaver convinced her that the attack had been done by an Idrian and to join them in “preparing for war”.{{book ref|wb|23}}
[[Lightsong]], however, was interested in how one person could have made so much “damage” but at the same time tried to kill the least. He went to her palace to ask questions. This seems to have helped persuade Mercystar to give Blushweaver control of her Lifeless.{{book ref|wb|30}}
