Masaka is usually very shy and quiet, even with her friends.{{book ref|yumi|16}} She dislikes when people stare at her, and shows other signs of antisocial behavior.{{book ref|yumi|16}} Despite her strange personality, Masaka makes an effort to be friendly to people she likes.{{book ref|yumi|16}} Her odd behavior is likely a consequence of her limited experience being a human.{{book ref|yumi|33}} Masaka is very adamantly tired of war,{{book ref|yumi|33}} and tries to influence her friends toward being accepting of aliens, likely as a measure to prevent bigotry and .{{book ref|yumi|21}} She also thinks nightmares can sometimes be cute, though she insists she dislikes horrific creatures.{{book ref|yumi|30}} Masaka often draws on her sketchpad while hanging out with friends.{{book ref|yumi|16}} As one can assume from the career she choose, she enjoys painting, and art in general.{{book ref|yumi|16}}{{book ref|yumi|33}}

She is an agonistes that shows a substantial lack of self-confidence about her ability to blend in as a human, doubting that she actually passes as such.{{book ref|yumi|33}} But at the same time, she takes pride in how far she has come and how well she is doing.{{book ref|yumi|33}}
