After his encounter with the Assassin in White, he managed to duplicate the ability to perform Basic Lashings.{{book ref|sa2|41}} Initially he had problems adjusting to the sudden change of perspective, but with practice, he managed to push down his panic and become accustomed to the altered gravity. He has discovered how to perform multiple Lashings in the same or different directions, as well as partial Lashings, though he has not managed the accuracy necessary to perform, for example, a half Lashing which would make him weightless.{{book ref|sa2|52}} He has achieved "flight" by Lashing himself to the air and shown that he can keep up with a more experienced Surgebinder like Szeth.{{book ref|sa2|86}}
==== Other Surges ====
Kaladin has some minor ability to acess at least some of the other eight surges. He displays this at the Battle of the Tower when calling [[Adolin]] back from the front lines. He described stormlight rising from his lips and booming, a part of Illumination. He also uses Progression to heal often. It is likely that he can use all ten surges to some small degree.
