== Appearance and Personality ==

Usually dressed in a simple trousers and shirt, [[Shallan]] mistakes her for a male the first time seeing her.{{book ref|sa2|43}} She wears a red-orange carapace mask which is growing into her skin and has dark eyes.{{book ref|sa2|54}} She has also been confirmed to be a Worldhopper, supervising Mraize.{{qa ref|1097|20|Is Mraize a worldhopper?|date=Dec 6th, 2014}} She now lives on Roshar, while her home planet is another one. Although not yet proven it is highly likely that Iyatil is originallydescended from [[Scadrial]], specifically the lands to the [[Southern Peoples of Scadrial|south]] of the Elendel Basin where the people were sequestered away by the [[Lord Ruler]] during his ascension. Considering the way that she refers to hunters and has passed the hunting ideology and mindset onto [[Mraize]], it is likely shethat her heritage specifically belongs to the caste known as "Hunters"{{book ref|mb6|22}} within that society. Additionally, the description of how her mask grew into her skin, as described in Words of Radiance, matches the description of how Hunters wear their masks in Bands of Mourning.
