We later see Hoid as becomes involved in the sting operation that Marasi runs in Billings. We see him have a silent interaction with Moonlight from different trucks. Moonlight comments that she can't tell whether she's watching Hoid or if Hoid is watching her, but then resolves that they are both just keeping an eye on the same third parties.{{book ref|mb7|20}} After Wax arrived in Billings, and gave chase to [[Dumad]] he casually appears in a sleek black car to give Wax a ride.{{book ref|mb7|25}} He also showed up to rescus Wax from the ocean in a small boat after the explosion of the [[Pewternaut]] A16.{{book ref|mb7|72}}
