During one of [[Kaladin|Kaladin's]]'s first bridgeruns, Gadol took a [[Parshendi]] arrow in his side and suffered a gash on his temple.{{ref|b|sa1|c|17}} Kaladin tried to save him, but the wound was too serious and Kaladin did not have the surgical tools to try to use, so Gadol spoke a death rattle and then died.
