[[Raysium]] conducts Investiture, allowing it to flow from one gemstone to another.{{book ref|RoW|84}} It is used by the [[Fused]] to combat [[Knights Radiant]], pulling their [[Stormlight]] away from them, and leaving them vulnerable to attack.{{book ref|sa4|5}} It appears that the orientation of the metal, rather than the pressure differential, determines which way that Investiture flows through the metal, much like a magnetic polarity.{{cite}} It is unclear if Taravangian's God Metal is the same as raysium.
