Dunny was killed during a bridge run. After [[Kaladin]]'s crew had set the bridge, [[Sadeas warcamp]]' troops started fighting the [[Parshendi]]. In the battle, one of Sadeas' archers accidentally shot Dunny in the shoulder and while injured thus, he was struck in the opposing side by a Parshendi arrow, killed instantly.{{book ref|sa1|53}}
