A darkeyed person is anyone who has dark colored eyes, typically brown or black. However, this can also include other colors if they are dark, muddled, and hard to distinguish from brown or black.{{book ref|twok|2}}

Darkborn is used only by a higher ranking lighteyed person addressing a darkeyed person, and its usage seems to imply either contempt or an obvious difference in status.
