Dai-gonarthis is believed to be one of the Unmade,sa3 an ancient and terrible spren of Odium.sa3 He also seems to be known as the Black Fisher.sa1

Little is known of Dai-gonarthis, even its gender is uncertain. Hessi posits in Mythica that it may have been somehow involved in the scouring of Aimia somehow, although she's unsure of the specifics are uncertain.sa3 She also expresses uncertainty that Dai-gonarthis isit's a member of the Unmade at all. However, it does seem likely that Dai-gonarthis is truly the final Unmade though, as in one of the death rattless collected by King Taravangian's Silent Gatherers, a dying woman mentions the name Dai-gonarthis.sa1in Duringa onemanner ofsimilar histo conversationsa withdeath Dalinar Kholin, therattle madabout JezrienRe-Shephir, ina theconfirmed guise of Ahu, also references the Black Fisher, so there is likely some importance to Dai-gonarthisUnmade.sa3sa1

During one of his conversations with Dalinar Kholin, the mad Jezrien, in the guise of Ahu, also references the Black Fisher, lending further credibility to the theory that it is an important creature of Odium.sa3
