From The Way of Kings, '''Dahn''' is a ranking system in which the lower number you are, the more highly you are ranked (So Second Dahns are more highly ranked than Third Dahn). Traditionally, only lighteyes belong to any sort of dahn, with most darkeyes in a lower system altogether called [[nahn]]. There are some exceptions to this however, as Kaladin was eventually promoted to the Fourth Dahn.
