Before their name was revealed Brandon said "truthspren" was a reasonably accurate way to refer to the Cryptics. This is perhaps a reference to the truth they require to grant access to the Cognitive Realm.{{17s ref|1999|post|35866}} It may also refer to the difficulty Cryptics have understanding anything other than absolute truth.
