Colot is an archer, and his battalion has a number of archers; he also commands some scouts, scribes, and bridgemen.{{book ref|sa3|9}}
He was good friends with Captain [[Tallan]] of the Eighth Company, which acted as the Fifth Battalion's policing force during the [[Battle of Narak]].{{book ref|sa3|9}} After the battle, he volunteers his battalion to help [[Bridge Four]] scout [[Urithiru]].{{book ref|sa3|9}} He is present after the death of [[Vedekar Perel]]; [[Dalinar]] asks him to help secure the perimeter and to notify [[Elhokar]] and [[Sebarial]] of the death.{{book ref|sa3|9}}
