Braize is a Shardworld in the Rosharan system, the same system as Roshar and Ashyn.9847 It is's the third planet from the system'ssun, sunafter Ashyn and Roshar.Roshar system

Braize is a cold, inhospitable world, perhaps outside of the system's habitable zone. However, while hostile to life, it is home to an ecosystem of self-aware spren, as well as a number of Cognitive Shadows, most likely the Fused.Roshar The Shard Odium has made Braize its home, although his impact can be felt even on Roshar.9847 Only Odium's spren are welcome there; for those not aligned with him, visiting is both difficult and dangerous.2577Roshar
Odium is currently on Braize, although his presence is still felt on Roshar.9847 Braize is, according to Khriss, cold and inhospitable. However, despite being too cold to support life, many spren live there. Braize is unlikely to get its own books, but scenes from The Stormlight Archive will be set on Braize.cite

Braize's most important function is that of a prison.660 Odium has been trapped there following his battle with Honor, and after every Desolation, the Voidbringers are forced to return to Braize. While Odium is kept bound by Shardic power, they are kept sealed by the presence of the Heralds.6819 As long as the Heralds remain on Braize, Odium's forces cannot travel to Roshar. To counteract this, Voidbringers hunt them down and torture them until at least one of them gives up, restarting the cycle. Because of this, Taln has spent the past four and a half thousand years there.sa3 In contrast to that, dead Knight Radiant do not go to Braize.8942
Braize is known to the Vorin people as Damnation. sa2 The Heralds were transported to Damnation for torture between the times of the desolations indicating that there may be a settlement on Braize where it was done. For this reason we can assume that is where Talenel was held after Aharietiam in the last days of the oathpact.

Odium himself, however, cannot be released quite so easily - only someone holding the majority of Honor's power can set him free, and only by intent. This is something he seeks above all else, and he intends to "transform" Roshar once he is free to do so.sa3
It appears likely that Odium is imprisoned on Braize and as such seeks more than anything else to be released. During the Battle of Thaylen Field, Dalinar says that Odium can either leave Roshar alone or destroy it but he cannot be free unless he is released and promises this as the leader of the refounded order of Knights Radiant and Bondsmith, should they lose a contest of champions. Odium agrees but is driven off by Dalinar's grand merging of realms after Odium tries to select Dalinar himself as his champion but is refused.

In the Vorin religion, Braize is known as Damnation.sa3 Those who have committed particularly grave sins are supposed to go there after death.sa2

Unlike the rest of Rosharan system, Braize is based around the number nine rather than ten.2745 Like all other Shardworlds, it has its representation in Shadesmar, although its name and nature are unknown.2576

Braize is unlikely to get its own books, but scenes from The Stormlight Archive will be set on Braize.cite
