* In an original mockup of the complete Table of Allomantic Metals, this metal was named cerrobend. However, the word cerrobend was a trademarked, commercial name for the [[wikipedia:Wood's metal|metal]], and so [[Brandon]] was forced to use bendalloy instead.{{url ref|url= https://mistborn.livejournal.com/111534.html?|text=Brandon’s blog about the near final version of the poster|site=Brandon’s livejournal|date=2008–12–12}}{{cite}}<!--just a note, bendalloy is also a commercial name, so not sure why that is okay and cerrobend isn't. see wikipedia:Wood's metal-->
* The original plans for bendalloy and cadmium involved redshifting or blueshifting of light passing through the bubble. But this was dropped as it would have lead to people outside being microwaved and blasted with radiation.{{wob ref|128}}{{wob ref|8084}} This was solved through the transfer of energy between the Physical and Spiritual Realms.{{wob ref|2761}}
* The real world alloy for [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wood%27s_metal Bendalloy] is 50% bismuth, 26.7% lead, 13.3% tin, and 10% cadmium. This is supported in-world by it being called an alloy of bismuth and cadmium.{{book ref|mb4|10}}
