He carries a [[hion blade]], and is typically displayed using blue [[hion]] lines. As ronin, Ashinata is a wandering warrior forbidden to be with the woman he loves, Lady [[Hinobi]].{{book ref\|yumi\|25}} After his first kiss with Lady Hinobi, Ashinata announced that he would have to leave forever, due to a threat set in motion by his dead, evil brother.
