== History == Alendi grew up as the son of a blacksmith.{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|16}} Certain circumstances forced him to leave his home village{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|18}} and led him to Khlennium.{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|19}} It is likely that these circumstances started exactly sixteen years before the Well of Ascension was refilled{{wob ref\|5510}} and included the first signs of the Deepness. He was the son of a blacksmith.{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|16}} As a young man, he met the [[Worldbringer]] [[Kwaan]], who hired him as an assistant. {{epigraph ref\|mb2\|11}} After a few years together, Kwaan slowly became convinced that Alendi was the prophesied [[Hero of Ages]], when Alendi himself discovered this, he encouraged the belief, and actively attempted to persuade the rest of the world that it was the truth.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|16}} To this end, he began attempting to fulfill the [[Terris Prophecies]] concerning the Hero of Ages. In doing so, he became a powerful ruler and spent a decade conquering the known world. He was famed as a great warrior and leader. During his first months in Khlennium, Alendi met the Worldbringer Kwaan and became his assistant for an unknown time.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|11}} A couple of years later, Kwaan slowly became convinced that Alendi fit the Terris prophecies and must be the Hero of Ages.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|12}} Initially the other Worldbringers met Kwaan with scorn when he announced this{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|13}} but after a while even the other Worldbringers became convinced that Alendi must be the Hero of Ages,{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|30}} as Alendi fueled these rumors to persuade the world of his cause,{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|16}} and Ruin slightly altered the prophecies to fit Alendi.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|46}} ~~It was years before Kwaan realized his mistake. He tried to rescind his declaration that Alendi was the Hero of Ages, but by that point, it was already too late to convince the other Worldbringers.~~ At some point in time Alendi became king of Khlennium,{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|16}} possibly by marrying the previous king's daughter.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|21}} Under the growing threat of the Deepness, Alendi united several nations (including Terris{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|23}}), some by diplomacy{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|10}} and others by conquering them{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|1}}. Except for a few dissenters, Alendi was able to create a general unity on Scadrial under reign of Khlennium.{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|10}} Out of desperation to stop Alendi, who was by this point preparing to travel to the Well of Ascension, Kwaan instructed his nephew, [[Rashek]] to do everything in his power to lead Alendi away from the Well, and to kill him as a last resort. Alendi was murdered by Rashek when they arrived at the Well despite the Terrisman's best efforts. After killing Alendi, Rashek took the power of the [[Well of Ascension]] for himself, and managed to keep the World from being destroyed. After Alendi spent a decade leading armies, the Terris Worldbringers decided that Alendi, the assumed Hero of Ages, should set forth to the Well of Ascension{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|9}} and give up its power in the name of the greater good.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|50}} However, Kwaan realised that some being deceived them all by altering the prophecies, but he couldn't convince Alendi and the other Worldbringers{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|55}} that the power at the Well should not be released.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|59}} Soon Alendi departed towards the Well of Ascension, giving no heed to Kwaan's warning since Alendi surrounded himself with other counselors who told him what he wanted to hear.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|52}} Once arrived in Terris Alendi replaced his normal attendants by Terris packmen who could carry his gear in the cold unforgiving mountains,{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|4}} they were a group of [[Feruchemy\|Ferochemists]] led by Rashek.{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|7}} Alendi started keeping a [[Alendi's logbook\|logbook]],{{book ref\|mb2\|42}} in which he also described hearing pulses coming from the Well{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|23}} due to his abilities as a [[Seeker]].{{epigraph ref\|mb3\|62}} {{expand}} What Alendi did not know was that Kwaan instructed Rashek to do everything in his power to keep Alendi away from the Well of Ascension,{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|55}} and if necessary even kill Alendi to prevent him from giving up the Well's power.{{epigraph ref\|mb2\|55}} Since the pulses coming from the Well drew Alendi closer with each beat,{{epigraph ref\|mb1\|23}} Rashek could not lead him astray and was forced to kill the King of Khlennium shortly before arriving at their destination. == Notes ==
