'''Adonalsium''' is a mysterious term used in the [[cosmere]], which could refer to the power of Creation or a god. It has not been revealed what Adonalsium explicitly is, but its power is seen in the [[Shard]]s of Adonalsium, which act as imperfect gods in the cosmere. In [[The Way of Kings]]{{epigraph ref|sa1|11}} it is implied that there are sixteen Shards.

For unknown reasons at least some of the 16 who shattered Adonalsium did so believing it was the final option left to them, suggesting its power may have been targeted as a last ditch attempt at self-preservation.{{msh ref|3|2}}
