Trell is associated with one of the nine Shards that were known when trellium first appeared.62618554 It cannot be Preservation or Ruin, as Harmony did not know the metal;mb5 it is also not Ambition, as she was unknown at the time trellium first appeared;6261 and it has been confirmed to not be Endowment.4389 It is almost certainly not Devotion, Dominion, or Honor as they are all Splintered, which leaves Autonomy, Cultivation, and Odium as the only possibilities. Given that the metal trellium allowed Paalm to operate free from Harmony's influence, it is also quite possible that Trell is Autonomy. Notably, Autonomy is known to be interested in operating on many worlds, and has avatars on First of the Sun and Obrodai;8902sa3 Trell may be an avatar of Autonomy manifesting on Scadrial. There was also a Daysider man named Trell on Taldain,ws2 which strengthens the tie to Autonomy; some have speculated that Autonomy transformed the man Trell into the entity now present on Scadrial. The fact that Taldain is a tidally locked planetTaldain and that the original Scadrian religion involving Trell, Trelagism, focused on the difference between day and nightmb1 may suggest the original religion had roots in Taldain; some have suggested that the man Trell had some influence on the original religion and that Autonomy later co-opted this religion for her own purposes, as she has been known to be worshiped in several religions.3974
