*One of the reasons Brandon wants to write this book is because there is "a group" that will be important later in the cosmere saga, and he needs to write a book about them so that readers know who they are.{{wob ref|12635}}
*When Brandon first dropped the name of the novel in 2016 it was misheard as "Dust Brigade" rather than "Dusk Brigade". It wasn't until 2022 when Brandon talked about changing the in-universe group's name to "Night Brigade" due to another character with the name "Dusk" that the communication error was caught.{{wob ref|15573}}
