;Plot Summary

Marasi arrives in Elendel on a train and meets with Allik, who tells her that Wayne has died. Marasi and Allik go to Marasi's small flat, where Allik bakes her different kinds of pastries while Marasi struggles to deal with the idea that Wayne is dead. A messenger girl delivers Marasi a small envelope, which contains the symbol of the Ghostbloods and an address. Marasi leaves Allik a quick note promising to return soon and goes to meet with the Ghostbloods. She is surprised when she gets to the Ghostblood hideout and sees that Kelsier himself is there. TwinSoul offers Marasi membership in the Ghostbloods and to join TwinSoul in his next mission, which is tracking down Moonlight. Marasi rejects the invitation because she would not be allowed to share what she discovered. Kelsier accepts her rejection, and Marasi leaves. When Marasi leaves [[Dlavil]] says that she needs to be dealt with because she knows their secrets. TwinSoul argues with him that they gave that knowledge freely. Kelsier agrees with TwinSoul and forbids moving against her or anyone else in the city without his permission. Kelsier decides that he has to talk to Harmony.

;Plot Summary

Allriandre returns to her apartment to Miss Coussaint scolding Allriandre’s daughter, Ruri. While Allriandre was working at the forges, Miss Coussaint was watching Ruri, and the child painted on the walls in toothpaste. Allriandre calms her daughter before answering a knock at the door. While Allriandre assumes the guests are there for her debts, she discovers that she inherited Wayne’s wealth following his death. She considers her feelings on the man who killed her father, and thinks optimistically for the future of her family.
