The Southern Scadrians worship the Jaggenmire, an entity composed of two beings who are always one and always apart. The Jaggenmire is made up of Herr and his sister-wife Frue. The Southern Scadrians believe that Herr can make things go and Frue can make things stop, though neither can make life on their own. They think of the Jaggenmire as acausal, simultaneouslyhaving beingalways formedbeen atseparate, aand specificalways pointbeen in timetogether, and having always existedsimultaneously. These concepts have been compared to Preservation and Ruin, and how both now exist in Harmony. The Southern Scadrians believe that their kings did something to offend the Jaggenmire, causing the Ice Death.mb6

The Southern Scadrians also worship the Sovereign, the person who saved them following the Ice Death. He taught them to revere Metalborn, who they consider pieces of God. They believe that he created the Bands of Mourning and hid them in the mountains for him to use upon his return. Some clans believe that this warning was intended as a test and that the Southern Scadrians have to prove themselves by finding the Bands.mb6 Others, the Hunters, believe that the Bands should be destroyed.mb6
