Shallan Davar
Shallan Davar is a character from the series The Stormlight Archive.
Shallan Davar lived in Jah Keved, and was a member of the Devotary of Purity. She was a Soulcaster and received training from Jasnah. She was in possession of a Shardblade[1][2]. She was known to have murdered her father.
Shallan was considered shy by her family, but when she left the family estates behind, she opened up and gained confidence. She had a quick wit, and often unthinkingly uttered the first thing to come to mind.
She had a passion for learning and a great talent for drawing, and used a sort of temporary photographic memory to capture moments and later depict them. She was never without her sketchbooks and charcoal, so she might draw whatever caught her interest.
The Way of Kings
Shallan spent several months chasing Jasnah across many cities, hoping to become her ward in order to steal Jasnah's soulcaster. She finally caught up to Jasnah in Kharbranth, and attempted to convince her to take Shallan as her ward three times, finally succeeding on the third.
Shallan began studying with Jasnah, and developed a friendship with the ardent Kabsal who eventually poinsoned her while attempting to poison Jasnah.
