[[Silence Montane]], the proprietress of a rest stopwaystop in the [[Forests of Hell]], and acts as a bounty hunter for the [[fort]]s. She hunts and kills [[Chesterton Divide]] and his crew, but then [[Red Young]] steals the body. It turns out that [[Theopolis]], Silence's handler, has hired Red to remove Silence, so Silence kills them all and uses Theopolis as a scapegoat.
