[[Adolin Kholin]] was to meet with Reral, but was waylaid when he protected a prostitute who was being beaten by one of Sadeas's officers.{{book ref|b|sa1|c|46}} Adolin gave [[Kaladin]] an [[Spheres|emerald chip]] to tell Reral that he could no longer make it and would reschedule for another time. Kaladin never delivered the message because he felt that Adolin was talking down to him.
