It is implied that the Nahel bond forms between [[Spren]] and [[Surgebinder]]s. It is theorised that the bond is what lets them Surgebind, and the type of spren they bond determines the order they become. For example, bonding an [[honorspren]] would make you a [[Windrunner]].
