Although not all of the contents of the First Contract is known, a few basic articles are understood. One of the most fundamental tenets was ultimate dedication to the Lord Ruler. Some of the more basic tenets were the following:
*Respect for earlier generations of kandra
*
▲*Provisions for the creation of new kandra.
One of the more disturbing and much less known requirements of the First Contract would require (if invoked) the mass suicide of the entire Kandra race.{{ref|b|mb3|e|11}}
